Today we saw the first part of a documentary called: Living on One Dollar. What was it that impacted you about this video so far? Start thinking about which area pertaining to poverty you would like to focus on. I can apply critical thinking skills when examining the issue of poverty POST your ideas for our class photos. Math test on Monday Grade 7s (relationship between fractions, decimals and percent). See the video below to review decimals and percent in particular. In class we used the fraction form first to help us. Grade 6- see Thursday Writing: You should have a clear idea of your subtopics to support your thesis. Be sure to gather the details, examples and facts that you will need under each subtopic. Draft your 2nd idea paragraph for Monday. Today you were having a blast with GROOVIN and getting fit at the same time PAC Fundraiser went home today

Haha! Groovin' was so fun! It was awesome to be able to just let loose and start off our morning with some energy! On the documentary what has affected me most is how alot of the schools or daycares or orphanages the kids eat salt and tortillas. It affects me how the farmers don't know when or the amount they are getting paid. The boy Chino has to do a job and he is only 12! He farms and works super hard for his family of 8 just so they can survive. The boys who were staying in Guademala had gotten fleas from sleeping and laying on the dirt. Imagine how bad of bites the people who have been living there for many many years have. The water was very dirty and unclean. The dirt sunk to the bottom of their water bottles. I was also affected by the time when they had to go get food and the normal things like rice, bananas, beans, matches were very cheap in our money but not theirs. For 1$ you could get 6 pounds of rice in our money but to them it could be 50$ or more. But the things that really matter like firewood (not that food isn't as important) was the most expensive thing that the travelers bought. I think that us living in modern society take for granted what we have. To us we could spend 200$ on shoes or on a purse. Maybe even a stylish watch or jacket. To the starving families they could buy a house or tons of food. We spend it on the accesories or the things that we want rather than we need. We should all realize the different reality that we and others around the world live in. Quote of the day: "The things you take for granted, someone else is praying for."~Anonymous.

Maybe for our class photo we can do one where we are all showing our learning, or a wacky one? I think we should keep these photos more humorous than serious.

What most affected me in the documentary was all the people just ate food without protein so they had no energy for working or playing

The video make me feel bad for the people because the kids have to work, many of the families could not provide for themselves and the water they are drinking isn't very clean. I think for our class photo we should get a photo of us all working .

one where we are outside showing our environmental side or one where we take a picture of use standing in a circle and you can only see our shoes. Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weekend! It's so nice out! :]

sorry I about the bad grammar. I meant. We should do a picture of use outside showing our environmental side, or we could do one where we stand in a circle but you can only see our shoes, because she loves shoes!

The video we watched on Friday really made me think of how lucky we really are, and what we take for granted. For the photos I think we could do something involving learning because that's something she likes to see us do. Also like Little Boy said that they could maybe be a little humorous\ funny.
