Ben was the only one who was kind to the elephant when nobody else was. He fed it and made it feel less scared and nervous. When he was feeling really, really scared and nervous, he thought he saw the statue of Ganesh guide him out the right way to escape. Since the title is called 'Follow The Elephant', maybe there's more to this situation?

I though that the Ganesh is the elephant that in the title ,everyone in I India follow the Ganesh ,follow the elephant, follow the god. But in the real life ,the elephant are really poor in India. Like in the story ,the elephant that Ben try to help has a little place to stay, and actually, elephants back is very weak that when you ride it ,it will be really hurt.

I think Ganesh helped Ben because he showed heart and care towards others witch showed the god that not everyone doesn't care so in return he showed great fullness and showed Ben the way out of the temple.

So far, Ben's connection to the elephant is when he met the elephant, he liked the him, but saw that the elephant wasn't treated very nicely. Ben decided to come see him again later (But this is when Gran told him not to, and when Ben snuck out of the hotel). When Ben came to see him again, he was nice to the elephant by calming him down, and feeding him.

I think that he has the connection with the elephant because it reminds him of his dad and like all the really good memories with the dad. So I think that Brn can see his dad in the elephant.

I think since Ben feels bad for the elephant and wants to help it he might be ginesh himself but not know it. That's why the statue seemed to move.

I think that the elephant reached out to Ben's dad because Ginesh is his dad.

I think Ben has made a connection to Ganesh because Ganesh listens to children and what they have to say. Since Ben has so much to say
