Can't wait for the bake sale tommorow! Sweets and sweets. Though we have to remember that its not only about the sweets its about the money going to Ghana. Thoughts, opinions, questions of today's post: Around Canada there are already people creating donation, foundation, food banks, clothing drives, and its these things are'nt just being created and helping others by one person its all of us. The money we put in and materials can actually give so much to the people its being brought to. Today, when we were talking about the article that said 'There really is'nt a complete definition of poverty' I think that is true. Like Ms.W said there are so many different factors involved in poverty, like absolute and relative, war, unemplyment, etc. So why say "What is poverty?" Actually right now I thought poverty is just a second word of poor. So, maybe that is the exact and I should delete that sentence of "there is no exact definition of poerty". But maybe it should be left on. See there are so many possibilites that poverty can lead into. Right now, I actually don't know how to solve this problem. I asked my dad who created money, because don't you think that its basically the problem. You can't buy food, water, ANTHING without money. Its how are human race lives in this generation. Going back to asking my dad the question " who invented money", he said us. Society. Sometimes, I wonder "oh how life is so confusing" I really don't know what else to say because there are just so many questions in this world. Is the world going to change later on? I asked my dad "why cant the government just give money to the poor. He said "because if the governments give money to all the poor in Canada" then all the richest and wealthiest would also act like poor and be asking for money, or maybe some will think its not fair and leave. Which will slow the econemy." Quote: Sometimes I want to ask God why he allows poverty, famine and injustice in the world and when he could do something about it, but im afraid he might ask the same question -Annoymous 2nd Quote: Its sin and not poverty that make us miserable- Annoymous 3rd Quote (This quote relates to one of my ideas): Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much- Hellen Keller

Like in the Think We team (even though im not in the team) If one person only does helps it does so little, but if together all contribute we can do so much.

I think to help stop poverty, were going to need to monitor how much tax money is going into welfare payments for the working poor, and make sure the government isn't using it for their own gain.

I think the we should try something a bit like mincome but not exactly. sense where we live is bigger then the place the article was talking about i think we might need to give people a bit less money. we could also make fun raisers and give the money to the poor.

I think that we should be doing more charities and saving our money to put towards things we actually need. I once posted a quote on here that the things we take for granted someone else is praying for. I find that quote very interesting due to how much we take things for granted. For starters we could be more smart with what we buy and the things that don't sell or don't have enough for a huge country, the government our buisness could be donating the things to a place living in poverty. I think that we should be sending more medication and materials rather than taking our things that we want and being selfish. I'm not saying that all of us are selfish but most of us are. Remember that photo of the boy who had so little yet gave so much. He had no food but he got 2 lollipops. Rather than keeping them for himself he gave the camera man 1 of them. These people in poverty have the biggest hearts and us who aren't most of us are just... Blah. It's kind of confusing how we who have so much are so selfish. You would think we would be more kind and give. But the people who have nothing give so much. I think that rather than sports funding for tournaments even for the kids they should all donate a portion of their money to give to a place living in poverty. What are your thoughts? Quote of the day: "There are some things you worry about. And then there are some things you don't worry about. You don't worry about them because they're too awful to contemplate worrying about.” ~Melissa Kantor. Quote from Maybe One Day<---------. Can't wait to see the treats for the bake sale! :)

I think to help end poverty we need to join together because like 2barunner said one person cant help much but a whole group can.

To solve poverty, we must unite as one and have everyone contribute to ending poverty. Like may people already said, a group of people can make a difference, but you'll need to think about how to finance money well so only it is used for good. Not to mention the world debt problem. Thoughts aside, I think that to end poverty, we need to unite as one, and collaborate to create a no strings attached plan to help out the poor, as well as to make sure poverty will not return. This could work, only if everyone is willing to contribute and spend their own time to make a difference.

I think we could help people in povert and make a difference by giving blankets to the homeless, donating food, spreading awareness asking for donations from neighbours then giving the donations to a charity about povery

I agree wih defiant one! I also think it would be beneficial if we attempted to have some sort of income system for people living in poverty, similar to the one Manitoba had.

I think charties sometimes helps people who can't afford clothes or food because some places don't have food banks and etc. Rght now we have all the things we need and want and not giving to the poor. I think some poeple giving to the food banks will help but not a whole lot so we can all give alittle to help. It doesn't matter what the amount is, you can give anything that will help them a least.

I think that all the rich people ( that have over 1 million $) should get together and make a group that will donate whatever amount of money to homeless shelters food banks ect...

To fight poverty we first of all need to come to some sort of agreement so there is no war but until then there really is no true way to eliminate poverty.
