Below are the videos we viewed in class. Discuss how you can create a positive digital footprint with your parents. In the comment section here, state how you plan on making your personal positive digital footprint this year.
The Voice of the Active Learner
Complete what we started in class In your Reflection exercise book regarding listing your responsibilities as a digital citizen. Your first one should be ...open a gmail account and online accounts with parents. They should have access to your accounts 24/7. Your second one is you never should have personal identifiable information listed.
Work on your weebly websites (we will also call them e-folios). Here are some of my requirements:
Publish your websites so they are live on the internet. Do this with your parents.
Home page: Introduce yourself including information about why you are making this website or E-folio. Give some of your interests, you can include your city and province, (but not name, address or phone), what you hope to accomplish this year especially on your site, some of your skills, passions and goals.
Remember, this will be your 'HOME' page on your website that all of your visitors will see!
You need to COMMUNICATE information about yourself without giving too much personal information. We will view these on Monday and give each other feedback.
Another great day! I can't wait to get our classroom statements up. Your only homework is to finish the multiplication 2-sided page and to complete the writing of your 'name' activity.
Remember to share this site and all your work with your parents. Also remember you should only use your fictional name when commenting.
Return your entertainment book if you are not selling it and bring in all forms.
I look forward to hearing about your special object you brought. Have a good night.
What a great day we had!
We have already reviewed what a topic sentence would look like when we write a paragraph and how to multiply 2-digit numbers. Remember those of you who need to practice your timestables should spend 5-10 minutes doing that each night. The same goes for addition and subtraction of 4 digit numbers.
I loved your dance break moves. What great participation! You rock division 2!
Complete your first draft of your photo from the summer. See LA to review the criteria.
Remember to bring your object tomorrow for our sharing.
Media, walking field trip and student information forms returned.
Grade 7's bring band forms.
Have dividers, 4 exercise books (all together), book to read and previously requested supplies here.

Reminders of what to bring:
Bring 2 more exercise books, your 10 dividers, your flashdrive, a duotang for French (or you can use your binder with a divider for French)
If you did not get a supply list in June, you should get one from the office
Bring the object to talk about tomorrow
Bring your photo to write about
Be sure to have your favourite book here to share unless you have shared already
*Some of you still need a permanent marker, fineliner and highlighters.
Remember your planner each day! Start dressing appropriately for the weather...some of you were chilly outside today.
What to do tonight:
Explain to your parents what place value means and how to add and subtract 4-digit numbers.
Be sure to show your parents this site...then explain how you set up your account as you show them your weebly site. When you go into design be sure to turn the icon 'social media' (eg. facebook) off. Play around with your site and experiment what you can do. We will show you more options tomorrow.
Ask your parents why they gave you your name and if there is no answer, ask them why it is the perfect name for you. We will be sharing these responses Thursday.
1. Bring an object that symbolizes your personality. It could be something you really care about or something that reveals your personality. Be prepared to explain to your classmates how this tells 'who you are'.
