Today we continued with our art colouring. See the video below to review shading and a shadow. This is done with pencils but similar skills are involved with pencil crayons. The clip after that is on pencil crayon blending. POST one important fact when shading or drawing a shadow. Tomorrow might be snowy...so wouldn't it be great to dress up in our warm snow pants, boots, coat, mitts, gloves and scarves and play outside?? If you want to do that, you must dress for the weather. When you shade, you always have to define your light source, which will help to make it look more realistic. That means that you have to make you lighter area stand out.

One important thing that you must do when you're shading, is that you must always draw the shadow in the right spot, depending on where your light source is coming from.

One important thing is that once it gets closer to a light or the sun then it gets brighter and the opposite side gets darker.

If there is an object, wherever the light source is there should be a shadow behind the object -away from the light source.

One important thing when you are drawing a 3-D object, is where ever the side where the light is, then the object gets lighter, but the opposite side, gets darker. When you are done, then you blend the light and dark side in.
