Goodbye to one of our students and good luck! We will be talking to you online:) Reminder ...next week "Walk to school week." Be sure to get your wordle on your home page. Do a tagxedo if your computer at home allows it. We have seen an amazing video today on the Mountain Gorillas in the Virunga area and have witnessed their social behaviour. We are also learning about gorilla's personality, the environment they live in and factors affecting their survival. In our novel, we are starting to learn how Ivan feels about humans. Ivan has made some interesting friendships so far, including a human, elephant and a dog. I want you to watch another video clip by clicking on the link below. This reminded me of Stella and Bob. We humans can learn a great deal from animals. Think about all three of these resources and comment here on what you think we can learn from animals. Be sure to give reasons why. Animal friendships On Edmodo this weekend, comment to your global friends on what you think the following statement that Stella said means, "A good zoo is how humans make amends." (remember your THINK criteria) HW Math - due Tuesday Divisibility practice Here is a challenge to all you math problem solvers borrowed from Ms. Van. Click on the link below to see the Flash mind reader. If you can explain how this is done, you will receive a treat on Tuesday. Email me privately if you think you have solved this problem of how this works. Flash mind reader

I think that humans should learn that you can be friends with others, even if you look different. I think this because in the video that was on the blog, the dog and the elephant were friends, elephants are way bigger than dogs, and they might look different from each other, but they are still friends. If humans took that to mind, there might not be as many wars between different cultures.

A reason on how we can learn from animals is that size doesn't matter. From the video that is in the post, you see a dog with an elephant and they are friends. Also, a little fun fact, elephants are actually scared of mice, go search it up if you don't believe me. Even the tiniest creature can frighten a giant.

A reason how we can learn from animals is that size, colour and apperiance don't matter when making friends. It really just matters how you and your friends treat each other. For an example, in the youtube clip the elephant and dog became very close. The dog and elephant didn't care what animal they were. If both of them respected each other that's all that matters. When I meet new people, that how I choose whether to become friends with them or not. If us humans took after this, maybe there would be no war or discrimination.

I think that the elephant thinks its a dog maybe something like that and that it was very interesting how the elephant waited for so long.

I think we can learn from animals is that their appearance doesn't matter. For example, Ivan makes friends with Stella even though Stella is an elephant and Ivan is a gorilla. He even get along with Ruby the baby elephant. I love in the video that the man said the elephant came protective of the dog! That's really neat that the dog and the elephant became friends even though the dog is so small according to the elephant.

Humans can learn not to be racist from this station because the dog and the elephant accept each other even though they aren't the same species, so what difference does it make if humans have different skin colours.
