We had a great day today! Be sure to follow through with your goals as you are now into the end of your 2nd week. Tomorrow we will assess how well you have been following through with your plan. We are also learning about CRAAP. You received this resource to help you discern whether a resource is reliable or not. Band students you will need to copy the key ideas of this information.
See the music video to review this evaluation of resources We had our 2nd workshop for the novel approach unit. The focus today was background knowledge and making connections. Be sure to ask your parents to initial this page after you explain what this strategy means. POST a specific example of how using setting a purpose, background information or making connections has helped your reading comprehension in the last two days. Here is another good video to explain the difference between mass and weight. We will be moving forward in our science learning.

Setting a purpose has helped me a lot. For instance, when we were going over the "good riddance" poem, setting a purpose really let me look at the poem in such different views/perspectives.

Making Connections helps me because it relates what is happening to something that has happened to me so I can understand what is happening

Making connections helped me with reading because it makes it more interesting... For example I'm reading and I come across something and I make a connection and I'm like oh I've done something like that.

I like making connection because when I am able to make connections it makes it easier to explain what that something is talking about.

Creating a meaning helps because if you only focus on that then you will be able to get lots of question and back round knowledge for that purpose.
