Great day today! Conversation for deeper understanding of our novels, and time to work on our responses and science. POST how the examples we discussed the other day helped you with deeper understanding. Count down: 8 more school days to go! Can you believe it? Cool video about octopus and squid here on our coast and many more interesting species. Tomorrow we start our sea creature. Think about how you can make it outstanding. Remember it's a close encounter with the creature and you want to showcase it's very cool features. Be sure to bring your printout or photo. Here are Vans' examples. POST what you think is effective and why. Photos of the band concert today, Little Boy's wonderful artwork and our California Kickball game. Important Dates:
June 17 Clayton Park June 18 Grade 7s to Clayton for scavenger hunt (Tweedsmuir scavenger hunt was postponed until September) June 18 Fun Night June 22 Playland June 23 Pancake breakfast for Grade 7s June 24 Grade 7 final assembly (Parents arrive around 9- 9:15 and program will begin at 9:30)

I think the art is effective because they mage it look realistic and some of them focused on one part of the creature instead just the whole creature.

Im sorry but I think I might have my dates messed up. I have the last day of school down as the 25th. So I guess there is 10 days. I figured out that to go deeper what you are trying to say has to make sense because if you try to go beyond the text and it makes no sense at all then its not really going deeper. I loved the art! I think that the blending of colours really make it pop and how they were detailed. The ray was cool because of the gradient and the white dots really gave it some effective contrast. Quote of the day: "You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have."~Bob Marley.

I figured out that to go deeper you should have thoughts that no one ever thought of. I was talking with FecalFlaulence and he said something that really depeened my thinking and made me think "huh! That, I never thought of before". I love the art and am really excited to do mine. I like how some of them made it close so its more detailed and more appealling to the eye. See you guys tommorrow! Another day of learning!

I thought it was the 15th today:) I really like the green jelly fish because of the use of colour and spacing. It also represents a real jelly fish which is really cool.

What I think that is effective is bold strokes and making the animal look realistic. Also zooming in on the important features of the animal.

I think the creature should be zoomed in, and the creature should be painted to look similar to the texture of the animal. I think negative and positive space should be used to to make the deep sea animal stand out.

It has shown me that in order to delve deeper you need to look at things that relate to the context with a real life situation and explain how they are connected, I like the jellyfish
