Happy 1st of March. Did you enjoy the coding lesson you had today? Mr. Smith reminded us that you are the future and to think about how you can use coding to help our world in the future. It is important to think 'outside the box' and to be very specific in your directions when you are describing procedures. Math: Grade 6 play this game to compare fractions
POST: 1) What are some things you learned from Mr. Smith in our 'coding' lesson today? 2)Give your opinion... either to your band friends regarding their excellent concert today or if you are in band, how can you talk your gr. 6 friends into joining band next year? Be sure to give at least one reason for your response. Homework: • Grade 7 pg. 271 #1-4 • Grade 6 mid-chapter test is on Thursday Remember: *Band performance tomorrow Raffle Booklets *Gr. 7 Parent meeting at Clayton tonight *Peach Wave order *Castle Fun Park Monday, March 6th (Thank you parent drivers)

1. I learned it's kind of hard to code, because for example, if your brushing your teeth, it takes a lot of steps to code that.

1. I learned that we can let a big thing to make many little parts, we can make the big thing be cleanly and more easy to do more easy. It is the coding. (The coding is actuallya lot of1and2).

My opinion for band is that they were really talented and it looks like they were practing a lot at home . I learned that coding is when you move a square to a other square.

I learned that when you code you have to be very specific with what actions you're trying to do.

1. I learned how to code in different ways by using different variables and patterns. I also learned about the different parts of computational thinking (breaking down, patterns, variables, algorithm).

1) I learned that when you code, you have to break things down to the narrowest step. Mr. Smith gave us an example, brushing our teeth:

I learned that when coding you have to break every single step down so the computer can do exactly what you want. I think the grade 6's should join band next year because it's fun and there's always new challenges like learning a song or a new note.

I learned that coding is a lot more complex then I thought. The band people did well in their concert because I feel they worked very hard on their timing of what note to play at the right time

I learned that coding can also be on paper and that it takes a lot of steps. I don't know if I am going to join band next year but all I know is that the grade 7's did AMAZING!
