POST how your issue is the reason why your party should win the debate. Today was our preparation day for the election that will take place on Monday. Your party got together to give each Minister practice in sharing one researched piece of information on their issue. Before Monday, each member must type their point form notes on their shared google doc. This allows each one of you to see the information already researched and identify if there is an area lacking that needs further investigation. Anyone in the group can take on this additional research. To get credit, please add it to your doc and include your name, stating that it is extra information. PARTY LEADERS: You should be prepared with a speech to introduce your party's key election points. Your party should have a slogan and you can talk to your ministers on email and discuss election strategy...eg. is anyone in your party going to make posters? Debating will be after recess and after lunch if you need the extra time. Then we will have a class vote at the end of the debating period. Check out this example of Canadian Leaders Debating Remember Monday you need to hand in your point form notes and the criteria page with evidence of how you are using the CAARP test to prove your resources are reliable. Remember Monday to bring the image of what you wish to draw for your special art picture. We also need some old white sheets your parents don't need anymore for our Hallowe'en art. In art, we began with the element of line and today we started a fall sketch with special sketching pencils. Here is the video that we referred to when practising blending and shading techniques, if you wish to view the whole video. We are continuing to read Wonder and are discovering more about Auggie's character. We have identified the importance of words and setting when reading and next will focus on character. Remember you will be completing a book talk in November so start thinking about which book you have read since September that you intend on presenting. You will receive criteria for this next week.
Writing: We practiced revising and editing our paragraphs for spelling, capitals and punctuation. We are also working on substituting language for more specific, powerful words. Some of you have overdue work. The I Am poems will not be included in the slideshow if they are not completed on the google slide doc by Sunday evening. Math: Grade 7s you have a test on Tues. so here are some review links for practice. Fast divisibility by2,3,5,6,and 9, Factors and Multiples jeopardy and overall rule review except for 8. Weekly Reflections and Fine Arts group reflections from Wed: if not handed in today, due Monday. This is an invitation to parents, grandparents and other family members to come and read with us first thing in the morning on Monday, October 26th. It is in celebration of National School Library Day. Here in BC we participate in DEAR (Drop everything and read) to mark the event. We normally spend about 20 minutes reading . Please let me know if your family member is attending and Mrs. Chapman will forward that information to the BCTLA executive who collects numbers for the whole province.

Economy: The liberals want to raise the taxes on the wealthy 1% to help the middle class families. Canadians need new leadership and a new plan that will make a real difference in their lives-by helping families make ends meet, putting more money in the pockets of the middle class, and bringing our country together. The liberals have a plan for change that will ensure everyone has a real and fair chance at success. The CCB will help Canadian families raise their children.

We would make a better system for our justice, economy, and so on.If we make a better system for Canada,it would become more wealthier than any other countries in the world. If we take control of the Canadian government,we would lead Canada to achieve prosperity within the next 4 years.

My issue is econemy: The green party will establish a full range of ‘polluter pays’ taxes, including a carbon free and a profit plan to reduce the use of fossil fuels, by sending a market signal to producers. All these taxes will be revenue neutral. Polluter pays taxes are when a company or person is responsible for producing pollution. Then they are responsible for paying the damage done to the natural environment. See you guys on Monday!

Economy: the conservatives are going to create 1.3 million new jobs, and with all those jobs there's a lot more people off the streets. The are also planning to use $750 million on public transit starting in 2017-2018, public transit is a HUGE DEAL because nowadays there is a lot of congestion on the roads and Hwy's.

My party: Liberals. My issue: justice. I think the Liberals should win the debate because they are actually looking at what will happen next. Pulling bombers out of Iraq and Syria is strategic because Isis will start to get angrier and angrier due to bombings. This will lead to either a) Bombers get shot down. b) Rumours state that Isis have nuclear reactors so if the bombers stay in... Nuke. Or c) More executions.

My issue is Justice and I think my issue should win the debate is because we the Conservatives are taking this very seriously. We will hire 100 more RCMP officers to fight in drug fueled turf war and have a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison for criminals recruiting, encouraging, or joining gangs. We will be making many arrests and have a list of gangs in Canada so that the criminal organization does not have to be proven with new evidence every time there is an offence. See you all soon!
