I hope everyone is feeling a little less anxious and more comfortable in class after today. We had some very interesting conversations about growth mindset, stereotypes and leadership qualities and I appreciate your participation. Some of you are already showing risk-taking and outside of the box thinking. Today we learned how to catch up with our homework if unable to complete it at home last night. Students are welcome to come in early to complete homework but must email me to let me know as they will need supervision. My email is [email protected]. I will be asking for your nicknames tomorrow and I am looking forward to hearing some more 'Brain Break' numbers games. I know you are looking forward to your turn at the M and M questions. POST: What is your idea of the perfect teacher? Here is one video we saw leading into our discussion about the power of words Homework/Reminders:
Grouse Grind Friday, September 18th - forms tomorrow if possible. We need parents drivers in order to participate. Complete four 4s game (see if your parents can help find some more answers) Class site question Five words for I am...(words that are thoughtful, honest, personally meaningful) Supplies, $5 planner, inside shoes, novels, gym strip

Its the 15th btw Ms.W! It's okay we all make mistakes, but we also learn from them! I think my idea for the perfect teacher is a teacher who does a very good job of teaching in a fun way. A teacher who isn't afraid to joke around and has a special connection between themselves and the students. I wouldn't say more P.E or outside time but if we did more indoor games and activities it would be great. A teacher who can trust their students and students who can trust their teacher. The perfect teacher would be able to do projects and activities in a way using more technology and games for explanation. You are already the perfect teacher Ms.W. But some of those things would be nice in other teachers. More digital use. MORE parties on special occasions definitely. Like a Christmas,Valentines,Halloween, and end of the year party. It would be fun if we could watch more movies. Thanks for being the perfect teacher! Hope everyone has a good night, see you all tomorrow! :)

I agree no teacher is perfect but the best teachers are kind and understanding and they will always be the to help you and answer your questions like Ms.Wilson!

My idea of a perfect teacher is a teacher who encourages her students to be the best they can and they're still realistic enough to tell you when they're not doing to great but help them on what you're struggling with instead of just saying and leaving it at that, kind of like you ms. Wilson :)

The perfect teacher would be kind and always have a good mood. They would also be encouraging when it comes to learning something new, and have fun activity breaks. The teacher would maybe give us some extra playtime, let us watch movies on rainy days, but make sure that we stay on task when we aren't focused. The perfect teacher would also let us play dodgeball and other fun activities in P.E. (because I love games). The perfect teacher would make subjects like math more entertaining with games to make us not only happy, but to help us learn too. ;)

I think a good teacher is when it is raining out the teacher lets us play any game that is inside but we are also learning and an other idea is for the teacher to teach us but more in a exiting way like being hipper but not being hipper at the same time so we are still learning but wee are having fun that is a good teacher to me

I visualize a perfect teacher as someone who is well educated and who connects with their students. A teacher who asks questions, pushes our thinking and makes students think deeper. I would like a teacher who is funny and understands or know how the students are feeling so it would be a caring, like when were sitting at a desk for to long, having fun brain breaks/games. Who encourages us and help us achieve our goals. A teacher with a good mood would help the students learn in a bright way. Listening to the students and trusting them and letting the students have responsibility too. An honest teacher meaning giving an honest opinion and not being too nice. I'm really happy I have "the boss" as my teacher this year! See you guys tomorrow!:)

To me there is no definition of perfect but I will give my opinion of what a GOOD teacher would be like to me... A good teacher to me is when a child is struggling and needs help the teacher actually tries their best to help them, and a teacher that respects others and uses the ROLES.

I do agree with Willow that there is no perfect or best teacher. Even you Ms,Wilson said that so yourself to me. So I would say it as a great/good teacher. A great/good teacher would make learning fun. Meaning, when she's teaching a subject or what not, she would make it not boring but fun. Another one is when he/she makes cool activities. That will make us learn new things. See you guys tomorrow!

Thanks to all - many of the qualities you have included could work for students too. In fact, if everyone had these qualities wouldn't it be a great place for learning. For example, I encourage you to put your leadership skills into practise and organize some cool activities for your classmates.
