Another great day of learning and working together. I especially enjoyed hearing the m and m's answers about 'what you would do differently'. It is wonderful to hear how aware you are of your actions and understanding. This is called metacognition.
POST: How well do you know yourself? What do you think your parents would say about you if they were asked to describe you. (eg. personality, likes, dislikes, qualities, quirks)
After you answer, go ask your parents to describe you. How close were you?
Grouse Grind tomorrow!! Yay!!! This is a physical fitness challenge that takes the 'grit', determination and perseverance that we were talking about yesterday. You should go at your own pace so hike with someone at your level because the main goal is to finish the hike and to have fun with your friends.
We leave right at 8:45 so tell your parent drivers to come into the class at 8:30-8:40 to have their insurance and license verified by me. Click on this link tomorrow morning to check the weather on the mountain. The mountain should update the status if they decide to close the mountain.
In this case, it would be a regular school day.
Here are some tips for the grind:
Dress appropriately for the weather eg. bring a change of clothing, running or hiking shoes, hat if raining, layers such as a sweatshirt and light raincoat that you can either put in your backpack or tie around your waist if you get overheated.
Also bring a lunch and water bottle.
Homework and Reminders:
Thanks for stopping by and please feel free to comment. We would love to find out more about you:)
