Great Terry Fox run today. Thanks to all who sent in donations for this wonderful cause. Go Div.2!! Terry Fox would have really appreciated your enthusiasm, leadership and participation today. Jon Aldag's (Liberals) PresentationToday, the Grade 6/7 students had an opportunity to listen to Jon Aldag, the Liberal candidate from the Cloverdale/Langley riding, talk about politics. He gave an informative non-partisan presentation on how the government works, the election process, and what the government does for people like you and me. Mr. Aldag also held a Q&A period where the students were free to ask questions based on what they had learned about in class. It was great for the students to be able to make real connections to what they have been learning about in Social Studies. POST: We are thinking about having our own classroom election.

I'm gonna take an educated guess and say 3/4. Also I drew a picture and I'm 90% sure.

Yes, I agree with Tyler Oakley. I believe its 3/4. I know I've learned a trick on how to know which fraction is bigger from last year's fraction unit. And Im positively positive that its 3/4! If I'm wrong... kill me.

I would talk about respecting others. I know we all know the roles, we talked about it alot at School but still some people don't show it. I see lots of people make jokes about racism, I think it's just respectful and mature to not make jokes about it. That is one of the examples I had in mind for respecting.

If we were to have a class election (Which I REALLY wanna do) I would talk about environmental. Stop leaving garbage outside of the trash can and put recycling in properly. Also respect and language. Respecting others and freedom of speech in a sum up. No swearing but controlled language. Not strict but still contained. Being able to talk about LGBT or serious topics without having laughter or giggles in the audience. More nodding in agreement and attention. To me these are the really important things. See you guys tomorrow! Quote of the day: “I gave up practically the whole world for you,” I tell him, walking through the front door of my own love story. “The sun, stars, ocean, trees, everything, I gave it all up for you.” ~Jandy Nelson. Just because I didn't post quotes on some past posts #2: “Meeting your soul mate is like walking into a house you've been in before - you will recognize the furniture, the pictures on the wall, the books on the shelves, the contents of drawers: You could find your way around in the dark if you had to.” ~Jandy Nelson. Last one! I just love these quotes #3 “Or maybe a person is just made up of a lot of people,” I say. “Maybe we’re accumulating these new selves all the time.” Hauling them in as we make choices, good and bad, as we screw up, step up, lose our minds, find our minds, fall apart, fall in love, as we grieve, grow, retreat from the world, dive into the world, as we make things, as we break things."~Jandy Nelson. All of these quotes are from I'll Give You The Sun. :)

If I was to be class president I would talk about racism and how its really not nice to be racist to people who can't speak complete English and who are not very clear and I think we all know at least one of those kind of people so next time your gonna say something about that say something nice or just don't say anything at all.

Agreed. I do see racism around our school. I don't know if their joking or if they mean it. But it has to stop. "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character" Martin Luther King

If we were to have a class election, I would talk about not giving up. I always here people say that they suck and their work is horrible. No, its not! You just have to keep pushing and strive to what you aim for. Life is short, so push your best to the limit. In every action you do. I believe that everyone can do well if they focus, be determined, and don't give up. Because there's still hope to benifit. Its why were alive. And make life worth living for. See you guys tommorow! Have a good night!

If I was the class leader I would talk about how to be nicer to each other and to be respectful to others. Treat others the way you want to be treated.

If I was class leader I would talk about believing in yourself because so many people think They can't do something when they are really good at it but they don't know because they have never tried before.

YASS! Its just like trying new food. You just look at the looks of it and say its disgusting. But when you try it its actually so good! (prejudicefood). Its also when you look at someone. Its just like August from Wonder. Sometimes people look at him and think he's weird. But when you discover the inside of him. You realize, he's smart, funny and has an opposite personallity of what you'd expect.

If I was the leader I would be a mix or everyone up there ^ I would encourage people like Westcoastwhale, like Tyler Oakley I'd work on the enviroment such as the garbage and how there's always garbage beside it and I would like mostly everyone work on the language of our classroom.
