Genius Hour Reflections - to add to Mr. R's response...3/15/2014 Hi all...Hope you are having a relaxing start to your spring break. Yes thank you for your question Blue Whale.
I will be viewing the updates on your Genius Hour sites. I can't wait to see the progress on your projects. Go back to the gmail that I sent you all on Mar 8th to see the example I included on how you were to begin (Blue Whale was fairly detailed). I have also emailed you all individually with some specific directions. Follow the KWHLAQ guidelines as Mr. R states and clearly state your intentions (purpose for this project). Now your ongoing reflections should at the very least include the same criteria as directed in your first genius hour project before Christmas...do you remember this? see below... are you finished? continuing after the break? If finished then a final reflection would include what you have learned, what did you create, did you meet your goals (why or why not?) and what are your overall feelings about the process and outcome of your project? I can explore and demonstrate passion using my creativity and imagination. (plus your specific goals) General Genius Hour Criteria: Reflect on learning each session Share with others at end Focus on task during class to keep your learning moving forward Daily Reflection:(include images) Date Exactly what I did today? eg. how you are solving problems What went well? What were some problems? Exactly what I will start next day? So I wish you a very relaxing, fun-filled vacation and hope to visit after the break. Take care. Ms W Update Hello Division 2,
thebluewhale asked a very important question concerning the Genius Hour response criteria. To help everyone, I have listed them below, K - What do I KNOW? W - What do I WANT to know? H - HOW do I find out? L - What have I LEARNED? A - What ACTION will I take? Q - What QUESTIONS do I have? Each time you compose a Genius Hour reflection, please answer ALL of the above six questions to the best of your abilities. Mr. R. Important Hello Division 2,

Mr. R. Hello Grade 6 Math Students, As mentioned yesterday, we have extended the decimal multiplication/division unit by one week after Spring Break. As a result, we have more time to review the multiplication table, long multiplication, division, and long division. The video below explains how to do long multiplication. I cannot stress enough the importance of knowing your multiplication table. This knowledge will immensely help your future growth in mathematics. For those Grade 6's whose parents have come to meet me today during Division 2's Classroom Open House, I have asked your parents to help support your learning of the multiplication table, if needed. In my personal experience, there are no short-cuts to mastering the multiplication table. It takes a lot of practice and a lot of patience. Be patient with yourself, your parents and I are here to help you. Mr. R. HomeworkHello Division 2,
