Now that you have seen a few examples from last year's Passion projects, your job is to think of this year's sentence. (Grade 7's, have you changed...would you add more to your animotos if you could do it again?) 1.) Watch this video with your parents: Daniel Pink One Sentence Project 'What's your sentence?' Before beginning our Genius Hour projects, think of your personal sentence and be prepared to share this on Monday. Grade 7's you can change your sentence and gr. 6's and new students, you need to create your own. Post them here...share your ideas. Explain how they are connected to your genius project ideas. Ask each other questions and help each other to figure out your focus. (Describe yourselves...what is your purpose? How can you influence the world?) Remember Dot Day...Make your mark and see where it takes you. French-menu (jeudi)

Check out these great stories from last week! How did they use descriptions to capture the audience's attention? Post your feedback! Thanks Marilyn Memories words and stories swirl like a windstorm inside my head .Worries are just a companion to everything else going on inside my mind. Everyone says when your dying, your life flashes before your eyes and you see your life in a second .Well those people are wrong .You only see the important things .I remember my mother’s nurturing hands gently putting a bandage on my knees after falling and scraping them. I’m remembering all the wonderful things that inspire me as I slowly slip out of the grasp of life. Thanks Tak. (Ms M's class) BANG! I fell to the crimson ground. A sharp pain brought me to my knees as blood began oozing out of my arm. This war seemed pointless, a stale mate between two forces, each of them rotting away in the disease-filled trenches. It was horrific how one death had triggered millions. As I sank down to the muddy earth, I thought, would anyone be remembering this in years to come, realizing that this endless fighting accomplished nothing? Or, would they simply disregard this conflict, seeking power, revenge, or wealth, starting another brutal, blood-filled war? (Thanks Blue Whale) I suddenly felt a cold breeze on my face, it was like needles were piercing my skin. I hurried out of bed then put my poppy on. As soon as I was done I slipped on my red shirt and black pants that I picked out yesterday. Sitting very still on my bed I was remembering those people that went to war because it was Remembrance day. When I was five my father went to war. He said to me in a deep voice that he can still hear the gunshots in his head. I felt a tear coming………. and another. Homework Reminders: Math assignment - due Friday, see criteria (you have 2 more classes if you need them) Writing-gr. 7's post after you edit (use your self/peer assessment sheet) gr. 6's edit but don't post yet -we will mark your capitals sheet tomorrow Science- task 1 due Monday (see criteria) Reading- 3 examples and explanations for Melody's quote 'Thoughts need words. Words need a voice. PE-tomorrow * Remember not to throw away light bulbs...bring them in for Christmas art. Post a comment describing how abiotic and biotic parts affect one another in the environment. Give an example and be detailed when explaining their important relationship. Be sure to read previous responses to avoid repeating. The more original examples, the better. For example. A lynx is a biotic organism that depends on other biotic organisms such as the hare for food. The hare's white coat allows it to blend with the white snow. The white snow is part of the climate in that region and is abiotic. (As you can see the living organisms are affected by other living things and by the non-living parts of the environment around them). Homework:
