Welcome back ...first day of school!! Have a look at your class website. Become familiar with the different headings and scroll down to view some examples from last year. What a great day with students of Division 2. Start sharing your ideas here. This is your class site so feel free to use it for discussion and questions. Remember not to put any personal information online...use a fictitious name. ** Note: There was a typo in the newsletter that went home regarding my district email. Please inform your parents that it should be: [email protected] You can email me any time by using the following email: [email protected] Homework/Reminders: Please show your parents our class website and explain to them that this will be available for all to use. *It is a place for you and your parents to see what we are doing daily in the classroom. Below are the surveys for you and your parents to complete. When completed, I will be able to add you to my email and with permission you will be able to participate in our Global Read Aloud and International writing partner opportunities. Student Questionnaire (click here) Parent Questionnaire (click here) 1. Mystery skype preparations: create 20 thoughtful clues so our partner class can guess our location. Find out as much as you can about Surrey.(eg. important landmarks, regional landforms, famous people? events?) Start sharing your ideas on this site. 2. I am going on a trip. Where in the world am I? Ask questions on this site throughout the week that can be answered yes or no. This is good practice for our Global Read Aloud Mystery Skype. (Don't just guess the place...try to narrow your choices with 'good' questions) 3. Bring the 'zillions' of notices back as soon as you can especially the district internet one, media, so photos can be put on the website and Grouse Grind which is this Friday, Oct. 3rd. (others are volunteer driver forms, gr. 6 immunization permissions) 4. Art HW: Brainstorm at least 50 nouns (things) that you have touched over the summer. These will represent what you did over the summer vacation. When you work on your art, choose the 'rocks' to be written slightly larger than your 'pebbles' and 'sand'. (see below) Here is the activity we did today. Sept. 23 Wow what fun to meet the grade 5, 6, and 7 students. Here are some links to the activities we were doing today. |
