It was such a pleasure to hear our grade 7 band play today. They have come so far and should feel very proud of themselves. Also congratulations to those who introduced the songs. We had a very busy day today beginning with a run or power walk. Did this exercise help your focus? We also started our probability unit. Be sure to complete the probability practice with one die. If you don't have a die, you can finish it on Monday. Reflection has been a very important part of our learning this year. We are combining our photography skills with the reflection of our own learning to make a final personal learning journey project. Post at least one quote or descriptive language that you will be using in your personal learning reflection projects to describe your growth and learning. Also begin to plan the images and text that you will use in order to describe your learning over this year grade 6s and two years grade 7s. Remember to use the skills you have learned in photography such as rule of thirds, what your center of interest is (focus/depth/foregound/background), amount of details, perspective and converging or leading lines, symmetry, contrast, colour, light, and making sure you have a meaning behind your photo. This is called symbolism. Also think about the mood or emotion you are trying to create. You have French on Monday and bring PE clothing each day as we are starting to see the nice weather and can go outside for more fitness breaks. Shout out to our athletes competing in the track meet on Wednesday. We are very proud of you. Also thanks to all for your support for Ghana and the Think We initiative with freezies. Please remind parents that our Fun night basket is the raffle theme and we are asking for donations...anything from scratch and win, prizes, and chance games to travelling car games for the kids...hey how about some probability ideas!! Remember there is no school on Tuesday unless there is a settlement. Due to conflicts there are a few changes in our schedule of events. Here is the updated list in our busy June. Post a comment: an example of what is good about this critique. (You know it is good if you would want to see this show after reading this? Why or why not? Are you learning any information other than the plot? What else do you think should be in a critique?) In 1991 Disney needed to make a comeback form their 1989 film 'The Little Mermaid'. Since the film was a huge success they had to make a movie that made them come back to Disney for more. When Walt Disney was alive he always wanted to do a film based off of the old fairy tale 'Beauty and the Beast'. The people that worked at the Disney company knew this and twenty years after Water Disney passed away they made the film. While working on the film the animators said that they felt as if Walt was right behind him. When the film was released it was a huge success. The animated feature made a whopping $145,863,363 which was $120863363 more than than the budget was to make it. When Belle, an outsider who wants more in her small town in the heart of England is sent to a castle by her abandoned father she figures out that not an ordinary prince and subjects live there. A prince beast and house hold tools rest there as they are living with a curse. When young and handsome the prince thought that everyone that was ugly was evil. One day an old lady showed up at his castle. She offer him a rose and when he denies because of her looks she shows her true identity which is a young and beautiful mistress. The rose that she was offering has the curse inside, When she turns him into an ugly animal she explains to him that if someone can't love him until all the pedals fall off he will be a horrid beast forever, Being bitter of his curse the beast over reacts and makes Belle his prisoner. As Belle searches the castle with Cogsworth a miniature grandfather clock and Lumiere a candle stick she figures out about the curse and about the rose. Beast finds her and he chases her as she runs away from the castle. After being chased by wolves the Beast gives Belle a room. After sharing the castle together for I'm guess a month they start to go found of each other. Later they learn that their maybe something more. After they have a nice dance in the ballroom the beast decides to show Belle his magic mirror. This mirror can show you anything and anyone. After asking to see her father Belle sees that her father is in a sticky situation. Belle needs to get to him so he decides to give up his chance of ever becoming a human again and lets her go. She goes back to castle after saving her father and right before the final peddle falls off the rose she admits her love for the beast. He turns back into Prince Adam and they live happily ever after. This movie is excellent the plots lesson is obviously very clear, beauty is within. I really like how they leave the time that Belle was trapped in the castle up to you rather than just telling you. I give this movie a good 4/5. It's a Disney classic you won't wanna miss.
