Grade 7s check your gmail for information regarding the ceremony and dance next week on the 25th.
Last day...so weird...I hope it's not the last! But here are the grade 7s having their pancake breakfast ...kind of grumpy looking before their pancakes. I am so glad we got to do that. I am also so disappointed that we couldn't go to Play land or Grouse Grind but at least Fun Night and Sports Day got to go ahead. Grade 6/7s post your good-bye messages to Hillcrest and to your classmates. Leave words of wisdom or advice gr. 7s for your gr. 6 classmates? Grade 6s do you have words of wisdom for your grade 7 friends? Here is a fun song to say good-bye for today but hope to see you tomorrow!!Grade 7s. (Don't take this the wrong way grade 6s) but I feel so 'unfinished' saying goodbye to the 7s today. We have always had a chance to say goodbye at our year end assembly so I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will have that chance this year. Keep your eyes on the news. If we don't make it back before the summer, I look forward to viewing your animotos and seeing you all next year, even you 7s. You are off to a wonderful new beginning in grade 8 and will love high school. Have a great summer everyone if I don't see you. Remember to give your dads their Father's Day cards:) Please complete your animotos and I will be linking them to our class site after June 19th as promised.

Check for library books please...we are missing some China, Egypt, Greek and Gods books. Homework is your Personal Response Learning Journey projects on Animoto. Bring a bag to take your belongings home. Just keep what you need for your novel reading response. If we have time we will have a quiz on series and parallel circuits. That was fun playing SKUNK in math ...probability can involve chance and choice. Today, students had their first lesson on family life. More specifically, they learned about puberty! Although we didn't have too much time in class for Q&A, we hope that parents can discuss this topic with their children. Parents, please feel free to watch the videos below and discuss them with your children. Students, if you want to review some of what you learned, you can watch the videos below. Remember to write your questions down and put them in our question box or ask the teachers next time we are together.

We continued with our probability lessons and watched the Bill Nye video. For those who were absent, here is the link for you to watch at home. Probability video. You can complete the information activity tomorrow. We also reviewed the vocabulary needed for this unit. PE tomorrow Be sure to bring in your box and overdue Father's Day cards. Gr. 6s and non-band students...invite your parents to your Taiko drumming session next Wednesday as it will be our final session. This takes place at your usual time 9:10-9:35. Awesome dance moves today. Thanks to Abby for teaching us. We can't wait till the next one. We continue to reflect on our learning. Continue to plan your language and images for this learning journey project. Collect quotes, phrases and images in order to create your visual representation. Wednesday will be another opportunity to take photos. If you have time tomorrow visit the free site http://animoto.com/ and practice a slideshow of 30 seconds or less to become familiar with the process before attempting the longer project. We are also studying probability. Post one example of the terminology that we are using when studying our probability unit. Please return the 'Groovin' dance forms. These are necessary in order to participate in Friday's dance lesson. It is going to be fun! Remind parents of the tea on Thursday. Also bring your cracker box for our art project Friday. Father's Day cards were due to day but if you forgot yours, bring it Wednesday. Another shout out to our athletes competing in the track meet on Wednesday. We are very proud of you. Please remind parents that our Fun night basket is the raffle theme and we are asking for donations...anything from scratch and win, prizes, gift card for an activity and any kind of chance games to travelling car games for the kids...hey how about suggesting some probability game ideas!!
