WE did it!! You guys did AWESOME hiking up the Grouse Grind today. You should all be really proud of your accomplishment. It was definitely a 'Grind' but I saw lots of smiles at the top and I'm pretty sure you all had a good time, I know I did. Here is a quick review of the past week: Language Arts: We started the week off with a review of some of the reading strategies that you can use in order to dig deeper into your books. Here they are, MAKING CONNECTIONS, VISUALIZIING, AND ASKING QUESTIONS. I hope that you continue to use these strategies in your daily reading. We also took a look at the different genres (Fantasy, Science Fictions, Mystery...etc.), and we were able to share some great book titles with each other so that we could include them on our 'shopping lists.' Yesterday we looked at the difference between a 'global' topic VS a 'local' topic when it comes to writing. We decided that in order to write a good paragraph we needed to choose a specific topic and stay focused. You all started your Summer Events paragraphs and will continue to work on them next week. Math: This week we continued to look at 'Factors' and 'Multiples.' Please continue to practice your multiplication tables at home-this will help you as you continue through this unit. Science: It looks like the Chemistry unit will be an interesting one. You have now had a brief look at 'Matter'- what it is and how we can observe it. Also, we learned about making qualitative observations, (made using words/senses), and quantitative observations (those that use measurements/numbers). Here is a short video to help you understand these two terms: HOMEWORK:
Please have the following finished for Monday: Science: POST· Give 2 examples of a qualitative observation. · Give 2 examples of a quantitative observation. Math: Grade 6: Chapter 3 Multiplication Worksheet - please also practice your timetables Grade 7: Any assigned work. LA: Please finish your Summer Events paragraph and edit your own work using a dictionary. French: Title pages are due Tuesday. Also, please continue to check the website for updates from Mrs. Wilson and bring any NOTICES that you still have at home. Immunization forms must be in by Monday at the latest. Student verification forms, please have your parents verify and sign Media consent form & Hillcrest consent forms must also be returned as soon as possible Please bring $5 for your planner if you have not done so already, thank you. Thank-you again for a great week! Ms. Bohnert Thank you so much Ms Bohnert for the wonderful job you did this week. I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. Congratulations to Carl Grimes for guessing the location! You rock! Ms Wilson Please email your fictitious name: [email protected] I would like to email you and also need to know who is posting information. You also need to complete the survey if you haven't done so yet.

Good examples...thanks, be more specific when describing the qualities. Nice has many different meanings.
