Haha that was a good one Ms.W! Quote of the day: "Now I'm not going to tell you anything you don't already know. Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows. It will beat you to your knees if you let it. But it's not about how hard you get hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward." I think that I can connect to the giving tree by some people give away so much but some people don't realize how much they can and will take. You can take things but in return you should always give something back.

That was a hilarious one Ms.W! I thought that the giving tree connects to me by this- Alot of people like to give and just give and they dont think for themselves they think of others, in my opinion I think its better to give then to take.

I can connect to The Giving Tree because I have a tree in my yard that I built a treehouse on. I imagine my tree kind of like The Giving Tree because it gave me the opportunity to build my tree fort and in return I give it respect by not destroying it or harming it in any way shape or form. I imagine The Giving Tree to be kind of like the Lorax because he cuts down the tree bit by bit and then when he comes back when he is old the tree is nothing but a stump. The tree is still nice to him by allowing him to sit on said stump and rest. In the Lorax the forest is cut down and used up and nothing is left but a wasteland. At the end when all the trees are regrowing the old man comes out and sees the beauty. Both stories are about not using up environmental resources.

I think the giving tree relates to me because I give to the poor when I can and I know they cant afford to give back so basically free.

The tree loves the boy unconditionally meaning that you can give anything and every thing to someone you love or care I would probably give everything to my loved ones because they do everything for me if they're happy I'm happy if they're sad I'm sad. But the thing that gets me mad in the book is that why is the boy so greedy he wants to make money he wants a new house he wants to leave HE WANTS TO SIT DOW N

I like the story but you shouldn't get everything that you want in one one command. You should have to work for it. I connected to this book because I have a friend who gets whatever she wants and she doesn't earn it. Personally I am happy that I don't get whatever I want because when I am older I need to rely on my self and not other people.

I think the giving tree is about unconditional love. (we discussed this in class) The giving tree gave everything to the boy, and somehow still managed to be happy. I guess this is how parents feel about their children. They give the kids everything they've got, and still manages to still love their children very much. Since i'm a kid, i feel that this is nonsense, but i guess when i grow up and have kids on my own, I'll finally understand. I feel that I can connect to this because most parents give everything they have just to see their child happy. However, though I think it's not good to get everything you wish. I think that this book holds a lot of messages, but this is my thinking. I think this book is a very good that holds a lot of good thoughts.

I think the Giving Tree was a great book and read for all of us especially at this time year when many children are making a lot of requests of their parents for gifts. I thought The Giving Tree had a lot of very valuable lessons throughout the story. It made me think a lot about what Little boy said about unconditional love and how parents give and give to their children. I related to this because parents put their children first to love and take care of them and make sure they are safe before then thinking of themselves.
