Wow December 1st already! Thank you to those who have donated for our Christmas family. We are accepting donations until December 9th. This is a wonderful gift of giving at Christmas. Thanks to those who posted yesterday. By the way...I disagree with some of you...I am a lot older than gr. 3 and I really enjoyed the acting, singing and dancing yesterday. They had a clear message in this play. Write down what you think the message about Ghengis Khan was and your ticket in tomorrow will be to hand me that piece of paper. We are learning a variety of colouring techniques (blending, line direction and shading) to add to our Perspective art. Let's review what you learned about perspective and colour last week and today. POST one response (Do not say the same thing as your classmate): What are the different techniques or rules for colouring? Be sure to explain the procedure eg. how to colour a brick? a tree? the lines on a road? how to create the shadow? how to create the trunk or leaves of a tree? how do we show perspective?how do we ensure neatness and accuracy? how do you create balance? Science: Some of you need another day to prepare your science so your demonstration can be on Monday. It is very important that you know and explain clearly all the forces involved in your demonstration.
Important Dates: December 5-9 Report #1 Week December 7 - Early Dismissal 1:38 December 12 - Swimming Field trip (instead of skating) December 15th - Christmas assembly December 16 - Last day before Winter Break

To color any of those things, you must first start with your base color, and color your whole object. Then, you get the same color, but in a little bit of a darker shade, and depending on which way the sun is reflecting, color in one of the corners of your object. Then, you get the even darker shade of that color, and then you color the bottom, and one of the sides with that one. Finally, you go over top of it with white. Sometimes all of it, and sometimes, only some of it. Good night everyone, and see you all tomorrow!

What I think the message about Ghengis Khan is that the valuable things in life are not like gold, treasure, or diamonds, or those kinds of things, they are your friends, family, and how you treat other people with respect.

You can use different shades of the same colour do if the sun is shining towards the north make the south of the object a darker shade and after that use white to blend it in

I wasn't there for the end of the day to learn about the shading but I'll hopefully learn today. From what I've read from others, I've learned that there is a base color, a similar color to that base color, and then white to blend.

You saw the musical theatre starring the character Ghengis Khan last Wednesday. Write down what you think the message the actors were giving about the character Ghengis Khan, then hand me that on your way in on Monday. I'll give you a reminder: He was very greedy and wanted lots of 'stuff'. Then what happened?

Meme Lord - I don't think you understand...you are to tell me (on paper) what you learned in the play that you saw...no research needed...just wondering if you were paying attention and understood the meaning of the play. It was not just directed to the younger group...the message was directed to you older students.
