We then took notes on what Sumerians traded. Tomorrow we will look at how Sumerians communicated through writing. To get us started, POST one question that you have about writing in Ancient Mesopotamia, then find and post the answer. Today we also reviewed how the water in a river can be higher than the land. Here is a satellite image of the Tigris and Euphrates and an image of the key cities around Sumer. Here is the video we watched during math to help grade 7s with their Order of Operations. Be sure to hand in your corrections for 3.8 if you want me to check your comprehension. ** Remember to look after your learning...it takes you to be prepared for your final test. My question is: Did people in ancient mesopotamia use clay tablets to remind recipes or certain ways to cook food?

How do they remember how to write each letter? I found out that they study the alphabet. I don't think they actually had a full alphabet but they just used different images or symbols to represent what they want to express. (But they do now) https://www.google.ca/search?q=cuneiform+alphabet&espv=2&biw=1920&bih=955&site=webhp&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwj46Yq7moDLAhUH8GMKHUo9AiEQ_AUIBigB#imgrc=zJgsWrkCEa1JbM%3A

I thought of some words that is the same backward. You could do "noon", "swims", "I" is a word and is the same backwards and upside down.
