"All the world's a stage. And all the men and women merely players." is an example of a famous metaphor. William Shakespeare is directly comparing the world to a stage, with the people playing " roles" as they go about their daily lives. Here are some metaphors from the class: • crystal light of the moon.` • Life is just one huge rollercoaster. • cloud of cotton candy • detective listened to her tales with a wooden face. • black carpet was the night in the mid day • stars are crystals against the night sky • There are plenty of other fish in the sea. • he's a walking encyclopedia • Science is a art. • light flows into the bowl of the midnight sky. • Rollercoaster of emotions Complete your grammar from today: prepositions/compound sentences Practice your French as your presentations are due tomorrow. Gr. 6 -you have 2 math practice pages Science: be sure you have detailed notes on the difference between mass, weight and gravity. You have many resources at your fingertips: use the Bill Nye video and short that I put on the class site last week, use the student comments about what they learned, and see the awesome videos below on Mass and Weight. One is only 6 minutes but it really explains the difference well. The other is 3 minutes but is a good illustration as well and introduces the term inertia. For review click on this link to play a Parts of Speech game. Do as many landmarks as you can tonight. You already have 5 completed so see if you can get another 5 done. (I know some of you had difficulties with the internet today so I will give you the extra day tomorrow) Remember we are checking for reliable sources next. It should look like this...see below. If you finish all 13 (one per province and territory), then share the document with me. You are ready to move onto the 'craap test'.

I learned that Inertia is the resistance of and object against the change of status of motion, including its speed and direction.
