Continue to share your opinions and reflections when answering classmates or responding to questions. Today's post: Name one example of how fractions are used in real life. **You may not use an example that someone has already stated. Be sure to ask your classmates for help when confused or needing information. Your classmates would love to give you some assistance...especially those who are finished their google map. I am impressed by thoughtful student responses and powerful reflections like the following: We are working on our poetry today. Our next practice is on onomatopoeia and personification. You should also review the rhyming scheme practice we did before Christmas as you will get a quiz tomorrow on this. Here is that helpful 'word' find wheel for writing more interesting words. •Complete your goal plan and strategies. Be specific with your strategies...exactly what will you ask your parents to do...and exactly when, where, how many times a week, etc.
•Grade 7s complete your math practice: Friendly advice, determine fraction sheet Practice Find Grampy to get ready for denominators • Grade 6s fraction worksheet (try your best on 2nd sheet) •Complete your google map activity. Once you have completed the provinces, territories and capital cities, share it with me. Be sure to use a different icon to differentiate different layers. eg. star for provinces, square for capitals. If you do not have success at home completing this task, come early tomorrow to finish. LI I can read and follow clear instructions on how to complete a task. I can correctly label and mark specific locations/landmarks using Google Maps. (Use layers, marks, labels, scale, distances, area, different map views, embed/share links and resources, etc) I will email you your next steps once I have received your map.

A example of using a fraction in life is when you bake. For an example you might need 1/4 a cup of milk :)

An example of using fractions in life is construction. For example, you might take an empty lot and divide it into 4 equal pieces of land. On 2 pieces out of 4, you construct a building on each lot. Then there will be 1/2 of the land left.

You use fractions in real life when measure and following recipes. You also use them to track your daily food intake which is what my sister does. Eg-I had 1and 2/3 cups of cereal with 1 7/8 cups milk
