So... tomorrow you are starting to plan out your genius hour projects. This idea is being explored by a number of teachers around the district and continent. It is even explored in the workplace. An author and expert on passion based learning, Dan Pink, stated that employees in one workplace took 60 minutes each week to work on new ideas or master new skills. How cool is that! So you will develop your own inquiry question about whatever it is you want to explore. I suggest you view your passion project animoto tonight and review what you chose as your passions and sentence then. Be prepared tomorrow to choose a topic for your genius project...an area that is your passion or that interests you...one that you wish to become more knowledgeable or skilled at. This is an opportunity to learn what you want. Watch below to see some examples of what some students from a grade 6/7 class, Gallit Zvi's class, in Surrey are doing. You also have science to work on. You need to do more research to add to your initial questions on Extreme Environments. We will continue to share our answers from yesterday's field trip and next week will be preparing for a unit test.
Be sure to check out the other 6/7 reading blogs 'book clubs' and add your opinions to theirs. This should help you prepare for your final written response.
