Science Assignment: I can identify and explain the interdependence of abiotic and biotic factors within ecosystems. Be sure you understand the following terms: individual, population, community and ecosystem. Begin your assignment by choosing one specific ecosystem. Then pick a minimum of 4 species living in this ecosystem. Tomorrow you will be given more class time to work on this assignment. POST #1: Describe the ecosystem you have chosen for this assignment. Be specific. For example, do not just say 'ocean' ecosystem as there are diverse ecosystems in different oceans. There have been numerous examples this week of students in Div. 2 making poor decisions. I would like to remind you of the ROLES and the Rights and Responsibilities POST #2: What does leadership look like in the classroom? Example: Handing your work in on time. (No one in Tuesday's group handed in their Reflection book today.) Book commercial tomorrow: Beyonce, Red stoner, dance exp, gymna Practice your fraction unit by playing one of the games on yesterday's or last week's class site. Personal Goals: We are setting our personal and academic goals this week. Think about the goals we have already shared today. Tonight think about the purpose for setting goals? What are some strategies that have helped you to be successful with your goals in the past? Also think about the discussion today on what 'next steps' means. For tomorrow, please have your personal goal chosen. Be prepared to work on this and produce evidence of your success this month. The parents will accept any art orders still outstanding until tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
Titan wear order forms went home today.

Math question: 5/13+4/2= ?Post#1: I chose the Pacific Ocean for my ecosystem. Post#2: To me leadership looks like someone who looks after their learning. For example if they don't understand something they would raise their hand and ask a question. If they didn't get to finish their homework that night they would come in early and at least try to finish it. Leadership could look like participating in class discussions and using class time wisely. I feel like I have so many projects and tests. Can't wait for Friday!

Blaahhh! It's not like we have a lot of homework but having all of these projects so close together is just so overwhelming. I mean it's like by the time we finish a test we have 3 other projects due for multiple subjects! Gaahhhhhh! Alright I'm feeling very tired tonight but I'm going to do my best for my comment tonight. Here we go! My ecosystem is Tundra. It could be found in many places like Alaska,Canada,Greenland, or Siberia! It's a very cold climate with very many plants or vegetation due to cold temperatures. Leadership is such a HUGE topic! I could range anywhere from taking on selfless job to help others or just picking up a piece of trash laying on the ground! Like 2BARUNNER said you don't need to be asked to do something, you just do it. I have noticed many people being off task this week and I think that could be because of our groups. We should watch who we're paired with and make sure the we are all being leaders at the tables. For example if someones on their phone, talking, playing with cards, or not focused it's your job to help them and get them into our learning conversations! People if someone tells you to pay attention because you're off task don't take it as if they're being rude! You wouldn't believe how many times I've seen it and how many times I've seen it happen to other people! It's time to take ownership of your learning and try to help yourself! Now for a quote! Quote of the day: "This is my family. I found it, all on my own. It's little, and broken, but still good. Yea, still good."~Lilo and Stitch. #2: "Ohana means family. And family means no one gets left behind or forgotten."~Lilo and Stitch. Goodnight everyone!

Yes, definetely. I have been watching myself and have noticed that I've been getting off task and not listening to instrucutions. I have to be honest that I know I don't do this stuff, so I think its my group that's distracting. (Ahem, person beside me, not mentioning any names). But, thats where leadership takes responisibility by telling myself to stop and assisting others too.

But for my example of what leadership looks like, this is what I thought: ALONE not beside your friends while independent reading and not talking because it disrupts other people.

For my ecosystem I choose the ocean, when I went to Hawaii when ever we went to the beach I really loved how many fish and sea creatures there were. So for that reson I Chose a beach in Hawaii called big beach it has a lot of sea creatures and BIG waves that's why they call it big beach, big beach has one of the biggest waves in the whole world, when the winds pick up they can go up to 45 feet tall !!!!!! And people LOVE surfing there. when people surf there they have a very high chance of breaking there neck, losing things, and other injuries.

I'm doing the "Great Bear Rainforest" It's in British Columbia, actually just outside Prince Rupert. I chose it because I googled "rainforests in Canada" and it came up. That's not the only reason though, I chose it for one of the very rare animals in it! It's called the Kermode Bear, more commonly known as the spirit bear. It looks like a black bear with a catch. This bear is white! It's like a black bear and polar bear child! (I suggest you google this animal, they're pretty)

OMG! The Kermode Bear is so beautiful! I think that its not really that white like a polar bear. Looking from google images that it looks like a golden light color. Why do they call it spirit bear?

I searched up why and it didn't have a legit answer just "because of it's white fur" is what it said. It also said that they're born perfect white like snow but they get dirty over time and shed their fur each spring.

Post #1 My ecosystem is Amazon River it has a lot of vegetation because it is very damp in the forest and has snakes, eels, and turtles. Post #2 Leadership means taking charge of your learning by studying until you get something. I am going to do this because I got a low mark on my language arts test.

Post #1: My ecosystem is the African savanna. If your wondering why I picked this ecosystem, I picked it because of the diversity of animals. Post #2: Leadership in the classroom can be staying silent when anyone is talking, or it could be having your planner open on your desk every morning. I have a question for everyone. What is the heaviest organism on Earth? You might say the blue whale, at 180 tonnes it's certainly heavy but not the heaviest. That title belongs to a colony of quaking aspen trees in Utah nicknamed Pando. It's 6,000 tonnes so much heavier than the blue whale. The reason it's so heavy is because each tree is connected through roots in the ground. If your wondering how it's all one organism than I'll tell you. Each tree originated from one seed that sprouted a tree. The roots of the tree dug into the ground and came back up to form another tree. So all of the other trees are identical to the first.
