I was reading the book, "Boys Without Names", and the setting in that book was in India, in a poor muddy house. It was a warm day. My thoughts on the short story are, that it was an interesting story, and the ending was pretty shocking! There was one part I was confused at, and get this, it was the ending! I didn't get it because I didn't hear it properly, but when Ms.Wilson started talking about it with the whole class again, I finally got it, and I thought that it was pretty funny! That taught the kernel a lesson!

Hi, I'm reading the book called : the devils arithmetic and so far I haven't found anything yet. my thoughts on the story the dinner party is : don't underestimate anyone because they will surprise you if you do and fear can make people do crazy things like for example screaming, slamming doors really hard or even getting angry for no good reason. don't let fear control you. so that's what I got form the story :} see you all tomorrow bye! :}

Today when my partner and I started our novel, right away we understood the character Harriet was inside a shelter of some kind. We found this out because in the text it said "she stretched her neck back to look out the window". We had a ton of stickies just from reading three to four pages. In the Dinner Party story, I got a mysterious sort of nervous feeling from when the lady stared at the cobra, but not knowing it was a snake, I didn't know what to expect. I thought someone was going to get bitten for sure. I didn't exactly know at first what the guy was trying to do when he made everyone stay still, but then I caught on and learned he didn't want to make a scene because he didn't want anyone getting hurt.

Me and my parted read devils arithmetic, it seemed really close to the present, because they had cars, Easter candy, and the book said they were in the city. The emotional setting was, sick and excited because, a character in the book was sick and his sister was excited to go to the city

I am reading "The Devil's Arithmetic". I think it is close to modern time because they have T.V's in the book. So far, the girl Hannah says that she doesn't want to remember all the important holidays because she has already remembered them before. Hannah said that she is tired of remembering all these things. So, I am sure something will happen to Hannah that will teach her that the holidays are important.
