Happy Thanksgiving weekend everyone! We had a special visitor today...hello Mr. Jones and his turkeys. (group hugXXOO) We also did a variety of wonderful activities today...we left posts on todaysmeet.com! I only saw one from Mr. Boylen's class who posted so they may not have had time but I am sure they will soon. I see some very effective comments on there. Feel free to make more comments. Here are some examples from div. 2: 1. Socials: LI: I can assess the diverse concepts of Canadian identity. (Educreations assignment) (I am so excited about these projects and can't wait to see what you can create) Continue to gather photos. Email them to yourself so you can access them when you have the school ipads on Tuesday. You can put them on your flash drive too but it is more time and effort to upload to the ipads. (You have already had this week to gather them, today to download and by Tues. you should have most of your images on your ipad camera roll) b) As you gather your images, you can start your draft of your own poem "I am Canadian". You are basically going to describe your images with a voice recording. It can be free verse like your 'I am' poem or rhyming. Use the culture handout as a guideline. Here is the criteria for this poem that we discussed today in class Here is a helpful video about Canadian symbols Post here: your beliefs about the following-'You don't care about drug testing on animals.' Reading: Answer the question for ch. 7-9 posted on the OOMM site 'What is significant about the story of Ollie the fish? How does Ollie’s life mirror Melody’s? Describe Melody’s feelings when she is unable to tell her mother what really happened.' Writing: Use teacher feedback to make final editing changes. Remember to use descriptive language without overdoing it and post your 100WC story on the Kidblog (see button on right) Math: same as yesterday Thanksgiving Turkeys with our buddy class.

Really I don't know what to say about this topic. It depends on the drug there testing.

In your opinion, would it be fine if it were headache or cough medicine?

I think drug testing on animals is half bad and have good because every year millions of animals are being forced to inhale chemicals that are bad to the body. But on the other hand some of the drugs they are testing on the animals could be a cure to a disease

Apparently prescription drugs and even asthma drugs need to be tested first on animals. What do you think?

I think that it's not right to test drugs on any living thing. They could do something were people could volunteer to have the drugs tested on them.

I think it is wrong for them to test drugs on animals because if it goes wrong, it could hurt the animal or they could get sick and die.

I think drug testing on animals is cruel it dosent matter what type of drug it is it's just not right, because that can make the animal sick or it could die.

I think animal testing could be fixed by using a simulation to test on then after the animal because animals are us we could be tested on by animals and we would not like that done to us.

I think drug testing is ok, because if it's for like really important medicine, it would be ok, but if it was shampoo or perfume, it wouldn't be for a good cause, which would make it pointless, which, would make it unacceptable.

I think drug testing on animals is almost as bad as animal abuse like there could be a chemical that makes the animal die or it could have an allergic reaction to the product
