Farms and Cities in Ancient CivilizationsAfter you have read the Farms and Cities booklet, please answer the following questions. You can also find these questions in the booklet. Thanks, Mr. R. Questions1. State your own hypothesis about how farming started. If you wrote one down before you read the article, use it.
- How is your hypothesis similar to and different from the one given in the article? - Do you think the historian did a good job of supporting a hypothesis? Explain. 2. Examine the information in the picture series on pages 62 - 63. Make a two-column chart. In the first column, list all the stages - or changes - you see, in order. In the second column, speculate on how each change must have affected people's lives.

Well I think that farming began when a group of female gatherers dropped a pile of seeds, they stayed in that area for a while when they noticed a little patch of wheat grew where they dropped the seeds.

I think farming got started when one of the villagers tripped dropped the grains and broke her leg. So the village had to stop and wait for it to heal. but they noticed that where she fell the grain had sprouted. so they went to a place more moist and soft and started spreading out the grains.

I think farming could have begun when when a woman gave birth to a child and the group stayed in that place until the child was old enough to walk. Over that time, they noticed the plants blooming from seeds, so they collected more seeds, spread them around, and watched them grow.

Primates may have noticed that food came from seeds, so it may have chose to live in places with lots of seeds.
